The 1990’s saw a rise in the number of Ballybunion hotels to cater for the rise in tourism to the areas main attractions – the ever popular beaches and Ballybunion Golf Club. The unique Ballyseede Castle is more like a boutique hotel then a regular hotel. The castle was built in the 15th century and still retains many original features throughout the public rooms and 12 spacious guest rooms. For those seeking a country house feel to their lodgings then the Ballygarry House Hotel has charm and country atmosphere in spades. Set within some fine gardens the hotel interior is traditionally designed and oozes a welcoming ambiance.
More recently the hotel opened its own Nadur Spa to broaden further the hotels appeal with a range of thermal treatments, mud wraps and seaweed baths.
Finally, the Glin Castle manages to combine the ambiance of an authentic with a dollop of countryside charm. Indeed the castle walled gardens and lawns stretch down to the river Shannon providing acres of country walks.
Inside, the hotel is tastefully designed with a mix of styles throughout. Most guest rooms are large and bright with great views and modern facilities. The restaurant is a favorite for special occasions with a fine menu of Irish cuisine which changes with the seasons to reflect the locally sourced ingredients.
