Tenerife, the largest of the Canary Islands located off the coast of Africa is a popular tourist attraction with its warm, nearly perfect climate, bright sunshine and delightful beaches. In fact, it is estimated that five million tourists from all over travel there each year, making it one of the busiest Spanish resorts in the world. It is also the host of the Carnival of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
While there has been an influx in new luxury hotels being built throughout the area, those looking to vacation on the island will find plenty of budget hotels in Tenerife’s three main resorts of Costa Adeje, Los Critianis and Playa de las Americas. They offer delights for just about everyone with both daylight activities for families of all ages as well as an extensive nightlife and plenty of low priced options for those on tight budgets.
The Regency Country Club is one of the most popular and unusual budget hotels on Tenerife with its Balinese themed décor and hand-carved statues, while Hotel Botanico, located in Playa de la Arena, offers accommodations in a classical style and tranquil ambience. It is also one of the most prestigious guest houses on the Island and belongs to “The Leading Hotels in the World.” In fact, Playa de la Arena is also known for having some of the best beaches on the Island.
Another reasonably priced hotel is the Hotel Contempraneo located only a short drive from Detours Airport in the center of the Holy Cross, where it has the advantage of easy access to and from the city.
In addition, if budget hotels aren’t for you, there are several areas offering clean, reasonably priced apartments near shopping centers and plenty of restaurants where one can stay without stretching their wallets such as the California Apartments in the heart of Playa de las Americas where basic one-bedroom or studio units offer all the amenities needed for a delightful stay. Also Castle Harbour Apartments, located just ten minutes from Playa de las Americas at Los Cristianos offers quiet surrounding for both couples and larger families with their own kitchenettes, satellite TVs and regular entertainment.
The Rebecca Apartments in Playa del Troya is another source of clean, modern apartments for those on a very tight budget.
