Many travelers plan to spend their summers backpacking Europe. If you travel in a group of two or more you can save money by purchasing the Saver Pass. The Saver Pass essentially means that there are at least 2 of you traveling on the same train, at the same time, together, always, which would be the best choice for a family. This can be especially convenient for couples and groups of friends that will not separate during their travels. The Saver Pass is available for any type of pass whether it is a Regional Pass or the Global Pass. The only requirement is the number of people.
Even if you are traveling alone you will probably save money by purchasing a rail pass. If you have two months to travel and know you want to see France, Spain and Italy, then the Select Pass is best for you. This pass allows you to hop on and off the train with 5, 6, 8 or 10 days within the two months and within these three countries. Another flexible pass is the One Country Pass, which allows you to travel from three to ten days within a two-month period and within one country. The most flexible, most countries and most expensive pass is the Global Pass. You can choose to travel 10 or 15 within two months or you can choose to travel consecutive days of 15 or 21 days, or 1, 2 or 3 months continuously. Each pass gets more and more costly as you increase the number of travel days. You are sure to find something that will fit you budget and your needs.
