Vacationing with the family is one of the most enjoyable experiences in life. When started while the kids are still young this could be a made into a family tradition, setting a few days of summer off for time with family. As the kids grow into teenagers, this could be made into down-time from their many activities in school and with friends. Later on, these few days every summer could then be a reunion for the siblings to meet up together, possibly even with children of their own.
Look to one of the family vacation resorts as a destination for your vacation. Who knows, you might come across the perfect setting to go back to every summer for that time together as a family.
There are a number of good resorts to choose from, whether it be by the beach or in a wilderness, a ski lodge or an island getaway. The best of the family vacation resorts now have amenities for parents as well as kids. There are golf courses and spas and good restaurants with menus for the discerning palate as well as children’s favorites.
For families on a budget, there is no need to worry. You can still go on that yearly trip to family vacation resorts and have fun with your family. There are working farms and dude ranches and even ski trips complete with cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and hiking the trails on family camps that offer packaged rates. The kids will surely have fun with you while widening their experiences of the world around them, and they will want to come back to these places again and again.
Growing up close to the Four Corners in the Southwest, our family destination was Lake Powell. We always went to a lesser known place called Farley Canyon. Far from a resort, we made this little expedition a family tradition and they are times we will never forget as a family.
Nowadays family vacation resorts offer some really good all inclusive deals that were not available when I was growing up. Take advantage of them and you will not be sorry!
