The Lake District is one of the most beautiful areas that great Britain has to offer. Tree lined slopes meet the waters edge and the ridge lines of mountains tower over head – it really is a tranquil place to be at any time of they year. It is unfortunate that the weather does not match the places beauty as quite often it is raining, in fact Cumbria – the county that the Lake District is in – is know as the wettest in the UK. Bearing this in mind when going on a family holiday to the Lake District you need to choose your accommodation carefully – as you may need to spend extended periods of time in it.
There are many types of holiday accommodation that you could stay in in the Lake District; you could camp in a tent, hire a log cabin, rent a holiday cottage or stay in a hotel, but all of these have their shortcomings. Camping at any time other than when you no you are guaranteed some sunshine is a no no and the other types of accommodation can cost a fortune. This therefore brings us to the option of staying in a static caravan.
Static caravan holidays in the Lake District strike the perfect balance between affordability and practicality. The caravans are priced per night so the number of people that stay in the caravan is irrelevant, this means that the more paying people go the cheaper it is for everyone. It also means that if you have a large family it works out a cheap way to go on holidays. Static caravans also provide enough space to spend a period of time in without you stepping on each others toes and this is why they make a great form of accommodation to stay in for the Lake District.
