We Are Planning a Trip: From Colorado to California 2012

by Admin

in Choosing a Family Vacation

We are a family who enjoys going places, although many of the places we have seen and been have been in Colorado. Colorado is our home and we have traveled from one corner to the other and back again. We live in the Northeast part of Colorado, but my parents live in the Southwest corner. What a beautiful state!

Since we live along the Colorado front range, we also enjoy many of the outdoor places to visit, fish, and camp including St. Vrain, Jackson Lake, Boyd Lake, Red Feathers, Carter Lake, and other neighboring places.

To make my story short, and I may have to add more to this post later, we are planning a GRAND summer family vacation this next summer. We have children aged 5 and 7, this summer they will be 6 and 8, though, and a gentleman with down’s syndrome, who is part of our family as well. Oh, and we cannot forget our two wonderful dogs, but they may not get to take the vacation with us if we find a dog sitter.

What is on our “wish list” agenda? Well, in no particular order, here is a list of our wants (not necessarily what is possible).

Chimayo, New Mexico

White Sands, New Mexico

Diamondback Baseball in Arizona

Coronado Beach in San Diego

San Diego Zoo

Sea World

Disneyland

A couple of SoCal baseball games

Chicano Park

San Fransciso

NorCal baseball games

(and maybe some minor league baseball games along the way too)

Lake Tahoe

Yellowstone

Visit in laws

Home

WOWOWOWOW!

We will have at least a month, and we do not have a major amount of disposable income, and we also have a 1985 RV that only gets 7 miles to the gallon!!

So how in the heck are we going to pull this off? Good question. We are in the beginnings stages of planning and I thought that this poor neglected blog of mine may be a good place to start the process of planning.

We will start with the costs of everything and move on from there.

I would love anyone who reads this to give me some feedback on how to undertake the planning of such a trip! Leave your comment below and I will be sure to respond quickly!
